1x1.trans Aristotle and Excellence Hadn’t read this quote in a while. Aristotle once said, “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence then, is not an act, but a habit.” I like the fact that we don’t show our work until it’s reached perfection (or as close as humanly possible). So, realize that if we’re showing you images we’ve created for you, we actually think they’re good. Not an egotistical thing, just a “we want you to have the best” thing.

Okay, just talking with my friend Rachel Robinson today and she was upset with my lack of posts on this blog. She’s right. I haven’t been keeping it up to date. So, for a change, guess what, I’m gonna change.

Things have been great lately. We’ve been photographing sooooo many high school seniors. We love it (with the exception that our flying under the radar thing has stopped). Wedding season has also begun. So if you’re planning on booking with us, be sure to call several weeks in advance.

I’ve gotta get new picture of our dog, Tink, up here. She’s grown enormously and since you’ve seen her as a puppy, now you gotta see her 7 months or so in.

Alex got a new puppy for Christmas (soapbox: please don’t buy a puppy from a store (probably mill-bred), there are plenty beautiful dogs available at places like local animal shelters and The Haven). So, we got to the studio and took some fun pix. BTW, her name is Tink (think Tinkerbell, Alex’s newest obsession).

1x1.trans I like this

Okay, went to see Casino Royale last night. Holy cow! Now granted, die-hard fans may miss Q and Miss Moneypenny or the boys-and-their-toys gadgets or even the smirky tone. But in their stead is a riveting picture that, for all its globetrotting glamour and eyepopping action, demands we take this new Bond seriously.

The action has a toughness and sadism balanced with a touch of humanity that makes it all the better. Daniel Craig plays leaner, meaner and a whole lot darker. Let the purists squawk: In Craig, the Bond franchise has finally found a 007 whose cruel charisma rivals that of Sean Connery.

1x1.trans Bond, James Bond

And do you remember when, as a kid, you came out of a movie wanting to be that character. Well, for the first time in decades, I left the theater with the distinct reaction that I wanted to be James Bond. Sounds like a movie review. I was that impressed. Go see it. It’s 2 hours and 24 minutes short. And I can’t wait till the next one.

1x1.trans Prep for Halloween

I’ve been trying to get ready for Halloween. My favorite holiday allows for so much fun. So I thought I’d finally succomb to the temptation and get some special effect contact lenses just to accessorize some of my costuming plans. I settled on black-out lenses.

Having never required contact lenses, I didn’t know what awaited me. Pain, red eyes, and lots of tears. Turns out, I was using the cleaning solution instead of the saline to lubricate the lenses and fire-burning, red hot flaming eyeballs was my lot. After 30 minutes or so though, I did get them in place. They look okay but, whew, I now have much sympathy for my contact wearing friends.

I absolutely loved today. Well, the weather that is. Almost foggy, a touch of coolness, overcast, still, light rain every now and then. Starting to feel like Fall. Thunder is sounding off in the distance as I write. Beautiful.

Just thought you might like to see me as an animated dude from a show on Comedy Central that my mom doesn’t like. Enjoy!
