You’ve been looking around for someone who offers artistic, elegant, romantic, and sensual boudoir photography. Then you’ve found the right place. We’ve been doing boudoir for almost 10 years. That means we have a reputation; one you can trust, one that produces photos that are really special.
You’re probably nervous, but don’t worry. I promise not to make you nervous or embarrassed. I get lots of calls about our boudoir services, almost every day, and one thing each and every inquiry has in common is the question: “How do you pronounce it?” It’s an awkward word to say so we thought you’d like to know before you call! (If you’ve forgotten your phonetic spelling from the sidebar, just say boo-dwahh, no problem!).
I want you to be very prepared for your photoshoot so let me give you lots of helpful tips and hints to make your experience “perfect” and so you don’t forget a thing!
You will arrive at the studio with lingerie (and apprehension) in tow and be greeted by us and only us. You will be made to feel at home. If you were nervous coming in (and you’re not alone, most women are) you will lose all your fears and inhibitions after only 15 minutes. Just ask for some of our testimonials if you don’t believe us!
It’s just us working together to bring out the best and sexiest you, you can be! We’re very laid back and down to earth here.
During your photoshoot, I’ll help you by directing and designing each pose to flatter your unique body type and to highlight your best features! Don’t worry about a thing, I understand what you’re looking for and maybe more importantly, what you don’t want to see!
When you view any of our boudoir portraits you will notice that every client looks perfect and that’s not because they all are, it’s because we are very experienced and specialize in our craft! Although every woman is beautiful, we just know how to bring out that special side of you.
Okay, so why would one want to do this style of photography?
- For someone special in your life. What better way to get your partner’s attention than with a photograph of you looking your sexy best? From mild to wild, we can create a special photo that will get his attention and help add some new excitement to your love life. An effective way to get his attention is to wear something you know he likes you in (or out of!).
- For your own confidence. The secret of looking good is feeling good! You’ve probably looked at pictures of film stars, models and celebrities and wondered how they manage to look so good. Models and celebrities simply benefit from the same professional photographic lighting and posing techniques that Mark can offer you. Ask anyone who’s had images made with us, we’ll guarantee you’ll walk away feeling better about yourself. Seriously. It happens time and time again.
- To look back on. Just for yourself or to share with your partner, why not freeze time forever.
Makeup
If we are doing your makeup (this is an extra charge but we do have makeup artists that will meet you at our studio):
Arrive with a clean face and no makeup. Be sure to apply a moisturizer. This helps your makeup to go on smoothly. Please bring your mascara and your own makeup kit even if we are doing your makeup.
If you are doing your own makeup:
Plan on doing your makeup before you arrive. If for some reason you need to put it on here (you are coming from work for example), you can make special arrangements to arrive early and put it on in our makeup area at the studio. Since studio time can be booked tightly at times, this is definitely something to setup in advance.
Be sure to put on makeup as if you are going out for a fancy evening. It is generally much heavier than your usual “look”, and will usually appear light and natural under the studio lighting.
We will help you touch it up in the studio and make small corrections before we start the photography.
A Big Request
But one of the biggest things I need to request is that you wear loose-fitting clothing. Tight elastic like panties, bras, panty hose, and socks will leave clothing marks that will show in the photograph and usually take 20–30 minutes to fade. I recommend arriving in clothing like a loose sundress, or old sweats (without elastic waist bands).
Nails
Fingernails should be done with clear nail polish or a French manicure. A pedicure is recommended in a conservative color, matching French pedicure, or clear nail polish.
Tanning
A couple of notes about tanning. Number one: it’s not really necessary. There are so many downsides, it almost makes it not worth it. The chance of just being red. Getting burned. Peeling. Just not looking like yourself.
If you insist on tanning beforehand, just make sure your last session is far enough away from your photoshoot that problems can be avoided.
If you spray tan, try that out first. We have seen sooooo many botched jobs. Darker than normal elbows and knees, funny streaks, cracked skin, dry skin. Should I go on?
Props
Be sure to bring matching jewelry, shoes, and accessories for your outfits. Like the clothing, bring any props which have special meaning. Examples might include special jewelry received as gifts, sports equipment, or unusual accessories. If these photographs are for somebody special, think about their likes and dislikes and hobbies for ideas on what to bring.
Music
We generally play music during our sessions when we work at the studio. If you have some favorite CDs, please feel free to bring them along. Well even connect your iPod or iPhone to our system.
Other Preparations
Be sure to shave your legs and under your arms and around your bikini line, if necessary, about 12 hours before the photography session. If you wait until just before, you may have red marks on your body or fresh nicks and scratches which will show in the photographs.
A Note About Privacy
I respect your privacy. We’ve been doing boudoir photography in Lubbock since April 2002, longer than anyone else around here, and there’s a reason why. My clients trust me. I never show your photographs to anyone outside of our staff without your permission. The subjects in all of the sample images you see at the studio and online have given us permission to show the photographs to others. We appreciate the trust they have shown to enable to demonstrate our skills and art to you. Please advise us how you feel about this, either way, so that we may make a notation on your file. I’d love to be able to show you off as well. I also won’t be that creepy photographer who gives you scary looks. Really.
